We are an Ofsted graded GOOD school!
We are absolutely delighted to attach the official Ofsted report which follows the recent inspection of our school on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th June 2019.
After being last inspected in February 2017, and found to require significant improvement, we are very proud to have gone through a full inspection, which was both challenging and rigorous, from which the inspectors evaluated Southfield as a good school in every category of the inspection framework.
The inspectors have clearly documented that there have been massive changes to our school over the past two years, of which the successful partnership with Eastrop has only been active for 18 months. In this very short time, our cohesive team of skilled leaders, staff and governors has achieved a great deal, and this has positively impacted on the children’s progress, quality of education and wellbeing. We are thrilled that the inspectors also evaluated that our capacity to bring about further improvement is strong.
We hope that it goes without saying that the Ofsted inspection, although important in marking the significant turnaround of our school’s performance, is not a reason to sit back and relax. We are all committed to further improving our school, the partnership working with Eastrop and our next steps towards creating a successful Multi Academy Trust (MAT). As a team, we are now working on creating our next School Development Plan (SDP) in which we will take forwards the inspectors’ suggestions about strengthening our practice. We thought their feedback was both incisive and helpful and welcomed their forensic approach to inspection.
We do hope you enjoy reading the report as much as we have and look forward to working with you in the future to ensure the school’s continued success.
With thanks for your ongoing support,
Kevin Weise, Chair of Governors
Aaron Griffiths, Executive Head Teacher
